In 2009 Fertoing firmly held its position in all major regions of the Russian Federation with developed marine facilities. Regional representatives ensured constant availability of necessary equipment for main services including tools, vehicles and vessels.

Projects of 2009 became an impulse for further company development, establishment of new activities and production departments. Thus, the company's involvement in complex equipment and navigation aids installation in the special fueling seaport of Kozmino (Nakhodka, Far East) was the starting point for the navigational aids department establishment in 2010. Shortly afterwards, 4 linear leading lines were designed and built, harbours and approach channels were secured with floating warning beacons. In addition, the company participated in the design and construction of port hydraulic facilities. Kozmino is the endpoint of the pipeline system Eastern Siberia - Pacific Ocean.

A project that caused geological survey start-up in the company was the complex research of soil characteristics at the subsea sands of Londonskaya Otmel (shoal). Here we performed sub-bottom profiling and hydrographic survey, took 6m soil cores using a hydraulic vibrocorer over the 200ha area that counted for 100 core holes at depths up to 22m.

Starting from July 2009, Fertoing commenced providing engineering support to the Olympic facilities construction. We were the first who began inspection and debris clearance in a new Sochi seaport cargo terminal (under construction) at the mouth of the river Mzymta after the severe storm of December 14, 2009.

Large scope of work was carried out in the port of Ust-Luga where we performed survey and soil sampling in the Bolshoy ship channel from Rodsher Island to Hogland Island  including the deep-water channel and the Luga West fairway. Total working area estimated more than 25 000ha where 11 previously not mapped shipwrecks were discovered.

Fertoing commenced works within the project Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok main gas pipeline (underwater crossings), the Nevelskoy Strait crossing (Sea of Okhotsk) and continued to provide integrated support to installation of 4 underwater pipelines in the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipeline system (Baidaratskaya Bay, Kara Sea).

We continued to develop activities aimed at hydraulic structure engineering support. During the year, more than 95 works on hydraulic structure certification with control and inspection survey were conducted. The greatest amount of work falls on the ports of    St. Petersburg and Murmansk.

In 2009 Fertoing completed works according to 107 Agreements in the ports of St. Petersburg, Ust-Luga, Vysotsk, Vyborg, Murmansk, Taganrog, Arkhangelsk, Yamburg, Lomonosov, Kronstadt, Nakhodka and Sochi.
